The earth is burning and resolute surf-pop wizards Hobsons Bay Coast Guard have returned to this cursed reality with a brand new single: 'HEATWAVE' – the band's biggest and baddest surf-belter to date.
Pressed on translucent hot-pink 7" wax with an exclusive b-side track, 'BEAT THE HEAT'.

After a healthy return from the wasteland of the covid music industry with their experimental album 'Tubular Swells' at the end of 2021, HBCG have wasted no time as they put the finishing touches on their next DIY concept-record: 'Weather Report' – the third full-length release in HBCG's short history as a band.

The 14 track LP is a comically cynical ode to our dying planet, with each song presenting a different natural disaster and our relationship to extreme weather both physically and metaphorically.

'HEATWAVE' is the first offering from this new project – a classic tributary to the verbed out surf-rock sounds of Dick Dale and his contemporaries, overlayed with Hobsons unique and enveloping pop-vocal style.
This is the commercial jingle to the impending apocalyptic summer. Grab your boards ‘cause ‘we’re surfing down to the grave’.
